A tried, tested and trusted financial services industry professional, Ashish has around 30 years of experience in the capital markets.Over this period, he was Portfolio Manager & Head – Portfolio Management Services at Deutsche Asset Management, and VP & Portfolio Manager – Offshore Funds at Kotak Asset Management. He then moved to SBI Funds Management Pvt Ltd as Head – Portfolio Management Services (International) & Senior Fund Manager. During his career, he successfully set up one of the largest offshore funds management businesses in India. He successfully launched and also managed several offshore funds based out of Luxembourg, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia and USA. The offshore funds managed by him, won awards in Japan for their long-term performance.Ashish’s knowledge and experience spans across equity research, stock broking, offshore funds, portfolio management and advisory services. He also wrote a column on Indian markets for a leading financial daily in Japan. His last assignment was with Tata Asset Management as Head – Strategy and International Business. He was also Head – Portfolio Management Services and Principal Officer. Ashish turned entrepreneur on September 2, 2019 and started EquiPoise Capital Management Pvt Ltd with a focus on investment advisory and offshore advisory services.Says he, “Personally, I have been involved in raising and managing funds for foreign investors for close to two decades. While the foreign fund assets in custody are well over USD400bn and they account for nearly 21% of India’s market capitalisation, when compared to their global size and also compared to the opportunity which India offers them, it is a pittance. Similarly, a mere 2-3% Indians have a mutual fund account and their overall exposure to financial savings is also low. This inspired me to start EquiPoise and set its focus on adding more value to domestic as well as foreign investors, both of whom can participate in India’s growth and benefit immensely.” – September 2, 2019Having set up EquiPoise, Ashish keeps a hawk-eyed watch on companies and the capital markets, while encouraging investors to connect directly with him. He shares a robust rapport with all his investors and personally concentrates on taking care of their financial well-being. He is a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) from Ramnarain Ruia College, University of Mumbai and holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management Studies from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, University of Mumbai.
