Fund Manager
With over ten years dedicated to the Indian equity landscape, Priyankar's professional journey commenced in 2014 as a buy-side analyst at Motilal Oswal Asset Management Company. During his tenure, he received invaluable foundational training in investment management under the guidance of Mr. Raamdeo Agarwal, Chairman of MOFSL. His initial sector coverage at MOAMC encompassed Technology, Media, and Telecom (TMT), along with the cement industry. In May 2019, Priyankar transitioned to HSBC Global Asset Management as a consumer analyst. This role provided him with a comprehensive understanding of India's consumption sector. Collaborating with the offshore fund management team in Hong Kong, led by Mr. Sanjiv Duggal, offered him significant insights into Foreign Institutional Investor (FII) investment strategies in India. Subsequently, in September 2021, Priyankar assumed responsibility for managing a portion of the equity portfolio at Ananta Capital. His responsibilities there included covering a range of sectors such as healthcare, music streaming, and manufacturing. A prerequisite for fund management is a robust grasp of various industries, enabling an appreciation of diverse business models and their core performance drivers. Priyankar’s investment approach has been significantly shaped by the mentorship of prominent Indian stock-picking experts, including Mr. Vinod Sethi (formerly MD, Morgan Stanley) and veteran investor Mr. Ramesh Damani. Academically, Priyankar holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) from the University of Liverpool, UK, and an MBA (Finance) from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Bengaluru.
